Take a look at Lucas Ossendrijver’s Pre Fall 2016 Sportswear collection for Lanvin, featuring classic jacket finishing’s and details, “tailor” fabrics used for “casual” items, t-shirts in ultra-flowing washed jersey and cotton and viscose and cotton jackets with a shirt collar or turtle neck for a soft, urban look. The Lanvin man is an urban nomad, transiting between great cities and airport lounges; his look moves between “jogging” and “evening”, with exceptional ease.
When I start a collection, I think about fabrics, shapes, construction, technique, and then colours. I wanted to de-formalize ready to wear clothing, particularly suits. I enjoy mixing the genres and codes of tailored clothing and the casual, sporty look. I like to play on opposites. I believe that this makes clothes easier to access. For me it’s a more modern attitude, less formal, in line with today’s world, it’s the lifestyle of today’s men, whether young or not-so-young. I like the idea that clothing follows your movements, that it’s flexible and discreet at the same time. – Lucas Ossendrijver
