Discover Chin Menswear Int’l‘s Fall Winter 2018.19 collection inspired by the designer’s Taiwanese roots and the social and cultural collisions, presented during the recently finished London Fashion Week Men’s. Chin Menswear Int’l‘s AW18 lookbook features model Zakarie at Nisch Management captured by fashion photographer Leon Mark, with styling from Ruben Moreira, and grooming by Jose Ouijano at The Wall Group. Set design is work of SKRAPIC, with art direction from VLF Studio, and production and casting by Producing Love.
“Despite Taiwan’s struggle for a singular identity, Chin proposes his aesthetic vision as an alternative melting pot of cultures: incorporating elements of traditional Chinese culture, Taiwanese indigenous lore, Japonism, and new Western values. To wit, moments and gestures from Chin’s memory appear throughout the collection, from Taiwanese ‘Formosan’ patterns (woven into colourful sweaters) to multi-layered silhouettes inspired by 1990s Japanese television. An extensive use of contrasting textures enriches this personal collage, as masculine corduroy and fluffy knitwear meet feminine satin or silver hook & eye embroidery.“
