Phoebe English presented Autumn Winter 2018 collection during the ongoing London Fashion Week Men’s. With a focus on form, fabric and finishing, functionality prevails over decoration.
AUTUMN WINTER 2018 RUNWAYS
The collection includes detailed box and bomber jackets. Smart wide legged trousers with oversized turnups alongside slim fit crop trousers with scallop edged hems and relaxed fit joggers with drawstring details. Simple finely detailed shirts with transparent buttons and delicate collar details sit alongside more heavily detailed shirts with scalloped sleeve overlays. Long shirts and smocks slip under full length trench coats with concealed pockets. Collaboration with knitwear designer Helen Lawrence sees textured waffle knit and rib employed in soft british lambswool yarn. Hats, scarves and jumpers in deep navy, red and grey in chunky gauge knitting are combined with various rib stitches – waffle stitch, english and plain rib. Waterproof lightweight waxed cottons are employed in navy, tomato red and rust. Matte coated cottons in a palette of dusty tonal greys and teal blues. Heavy shirtings are sewn in blues, shades of grey and off-white. Lightweight moleskines are employed in stone and coal black set against finely woven drills in navy blue. – from Phoebe English
