Musical melodies can be found everywhere in modern life – the alarm ringing in the morning, the song that repeats over and over again on the radio, and even the music from various multi-media adverts. Back home after a long day at work, pressing the “Play” button on your favorite song will release a whole days pressure and exhaustion. Music has become indispensable nourishment for the mind. From cover songs in the early years, to campus folk music in the 70s and 80s, and then to the rise of idols in the 90s, music has accompanied us growing up. Whether romance, kinship, or friendship, every single word in the lyrics reflects memories of our own. Music may be the spiritual support when you lose a family member, or the comfort for your soul when you’re suffering from a break-up, or it can simply be a shared moment of joy between friends.
