Versace presented the updated Chain Reaction sneakers for Cruise 2020. Featuring the house’s signature prints, Greek-inspired motifs and logos from the 90s, interpreted in a more contemporary way, the new Chain Reaction is a well-established must-have of the new season.
First debuted as part of the Fall-Winter 2018 Collection, the Chain Reaction was designed to speak to a modern generation of sneaker fans. Fusing layers of revered iconography with a contemporary aesthetic, the style embraces Versace’s distinct DNA.
The Chain Reaction’s chunky chain-shaped outsole gives it a unique silhouette and is armed with iconography thanks to its Greca embossing and Medusa. The Greca also features on the pair’s lace cage. Top-stitching was frequently used by Gianni Versace and the sneakers pay homage to the history of the House with top-stitched borders framing the upper. “Puff croc” neoprene on the tongue and lining provides comfort and adds tactile interest, while reflective accents are inspired by the world of running. Braille detailing along the toe spells out the word “Love,” bringing an uplifting message to each pair. The laces are tipped with wax for an unexpected finishing touch. – from Versace
