Discover Mimi Wade‘s Fall Winter 2020.21 collection inspired by the current box office hit movie Birds of Prey: and The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, presented on Saturday, February 15th, during the ongoing London Fashion Week.

“Mimi Wade’s signature romantic silhouettes and Americana-infused pop-culture references return wrapped up in the her distinctly natural sartorial hyper-femininity. Cheer leader uniforms and harlequin prints in homage to Harley Quinn’s iconic style. Sustainability has been a crucial factor for Mimi Wade in the making of this collection in line with the mood of the times, working with DC known for their superheroes and taking inspiration from an iconic comic book franchise stays true to this “Save The World” mentality with large parts of the collection either fully or partially up-cycled.
In Mimi’s interpretation of Harley’s iconic uniform, she uses elasticated velvet ribbon and Sophie Hallette lace to create the classic cheerleader lines through slash up and re-purposed Americana T-Shirts. Dodger’s jerseys are manipulated into 1950’s-but wiggle dresses and graphic t-shirts are given an update with a puff-sleeve, fingerless gloves, velvet ribbons and lace applique. Mirroring Harley Quinn’s emancipation from The Joker in the Birds of Prey story, the collections seeks to convey a sense of newfound freedom with motorcycle graphics, ripped hand dyed lace trims and raw edges.“
