Premium Group and Messe Frankfurt, the organizers of Berlin Fashion Week announced on Monday that the event will now take place in the city of Frankfurt starting in Summer 2021. Fashion Week as well as the sustainable trade fair Neonyt will be housed at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds.
We have all the ingredients necessary to establish Frankfurt as an international fashion and lifestyle hub. Messe Frankfurt is the world’s biggest organiser of textile events. We will use and interlink this expertise.- said Detlef Braun, member of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt
The last Fashion Week took place in January in Berlin, with around 70,000 visitors and numerous designers presenting their latest collections. The new Frankfurt Fashion Week is expected to take place twice a year, in January and in July.
This will transform the financial centre of Frankfurt into a new hotspot for the international fashion and lifestyle scene and create a new, international fashion metropolis. – said the city’s mayor, Peter Feldmann.
He added that this is a unique opportunity for the city, as hosting the fashion week will generate over €200 million for the city and region.
