The zest for life and self-confidence. For Spring Summer 2022 collection, Dior travels to Texas, inspired by Christian Dior’s journey to this American state in 1947, to celebrate his debut collection. This deep-rooted connection to Texas, was starting point for men’s artistic director Kim Jones, who has collaborated with the Texan-born rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer Travis Scott on the Dior Men’s Summer 2022 collection.
Named Cactus Jack Dior, the collection that draws name from Scott’s Cactus Jack records label, is a conversation between two friends, two cultures, and two different eras. It explores the identities of a groundbreaking modern musician and the heritage of one of the leading Parisian couture houses.
The house of Dior has collaborate with celebrated American contemporary artist George Condo, on a series of one-off art pieces for the Summer 2022 show. A dialogue between American pop sensibilities and European old master painting, Condo has created a sequence of hand-painted shirts, unique works, that will be auctioned after the Dior show, with the proceeds used to support future generations of creative talent through scholarships.
