London-based gender-fluid label KA WA KEY presented their Spring Summer 2022 Collection, inspired by a Chinese legend Butterfly Lovers – a tragic love story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, on September 8th, during the recently finished New York Fashion Week. The colors, prints, and textures are all inspired by the beauty of butterflies’ wings. For the session design duo KEY CHOW and JARNO LEPPANEN collaborated with Finnish SPINNOVA® on a small sustainable capsule collection, as well as with RUNE Fashion Opera.
Jarno Leppanen captured the lookbook featuring models Zaki, Kofi, Zack, and Ryan. In charge of beauty were hair stylist Brendan O’Sullivan, assisted by Spencer Silver, and makeup artist Michelle Strain, assisted by Laura Hahnel. Film maker Bryn Williams captured the video featuring Alfie Aves, and Ryan Appiah-Sarpong.
