Luxury house MAX MARA unveiled their Resort 2023 Vai Lenço Feliz Collection, that pays homage to Portuguese culture, on June 28th, in the gardens of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisabon. The collection was inspired by the powerful personality of poet and social activist Natália Correia, who was a symbol of seductive and unconventional femininity in the ’70s and ’80s. Designer Ian Griffiths also celebrates culture of Portugal, from the haunting melodies of fado – music of love and passion, to the Lenços de namorados do Minho – the romantic tradition “handkerchiefs of lovers“, that dates back to the 17th century.
