South Korean fashion brand SONGZIO presented the Spring Summer 2023 Menswear Collection, on June 23rd, at The American Cathedral during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. The collection titled Eclipse, was inspired by the orderly chaos portrayed in Dante’s Divine Comedy. This seasons protagonist is an artistic misanthrope of stark appearance yet of subtle sensibilities, traveling through the surreal and daunting after world as chanted in the medieval poem. Besides the brand’s signature monochromatic palette, this season we can see glimpses of aqua blue, parakeet green, and lime yellow.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
SONGZIO’s 23 spring summer collection captures the “eclipse” of the perennial and the ephemeral. by conjoining dualities in a sharply bold yet detailed subtlety, SONGZIO seeks to create an orderly disorder with a bright yet an enigmatic collection. – from SONGZIO
Asymmetry, draping and layering are the primary design features of this enigmatic and technical collection, applied delicately yet aggressively to create a sense of coexisting order and disorder. Most notably, numerous pieces in this collection are made in two-piece, one set. asymmetrical blazers, cropped on the right and just on the left, can be worn with a layered sports vest piece inside as one complete set. Two-piece crop cut sweatshirts are worn with an embroidered sleeveless jersey inside as one full set. Double layered zip up shirt is also layered with a collarless organza shirt vest. through technical methods of layering, SONGZIO brings new order to an otherwise asymmetrical, hence ‘disorderly’, collection. – from press release
