Fashion brand AGNONA presented the Spring Summer 2023 Collection, with a lookbook presented during the Milano Fashion Week. This season’s collection comes from the pure joy of a never-ending celebration. From the emotions we all feel in unison, intertwined and connected like never before. Warmed by the light of a new summer. The collection presents a tension between logic and sentiment, technology and handmade art, and the unconditional love for both nature and urban minimalism.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS
The summer solstice marks the longest days of the year. Even after sunset, the sky has a magical, luminous hue, and an intense scent of wild herbs lingers in the air. In the Nordics, it’s called Midsummer and according to local legends, meadow flowers picked during this time bring fertility and well-being to the whole community, spreading the unexpected energy that comes with every new beginning. Field foliage and flowers are also used to decorate the Maypole, a tall wooden pole that is a symbol of the regenerative power of the earth, together with hundreds of ribbons. After recently finding shelter in oversized silhouettes, there is a rediscovery of the pleasure of showing bodily shapes, through the fluidity of expansive forms which, instead of hiding contours, emphasize them. Between silk jacquards, evanescent floral prints, and handmade artworks, the senses are awakened by the three-dimensional nature of the surfaces. The cool restraint of Agnona’s iconic neutrals is disrupted – here and there – by pastel hues of sunset pink and intense periwinkle. A feeling of freshness and fluidity runs through the whole collection, involving every kind of fabric, from pure wool to silk to viscose cady. Effortless lines are a visual portrayal of light and movement, adorned with subtle lustrous hues, all with the delicacy of a blade of grass moving in the wind. Rigid definitions fade in this moment of inner fulfilment, as well as the codes and functions of the pieces. The iconic suit returns as the protagonist, in a refined exploration of everyday life in all its forms. For her, long, sharp jackets, with and without sleeves, over wide trousers. Skirts are long and occasionally a wrap, bermuda shorts are always high-waisted. Silky jacquard and printed pyjamas become the emblem of a new elegance. He accompanies her with discretion and respect, wearing a knitted polo shirt and silk trousers, never too formal nor too relaxed.
