@fifaworldcup

After a four year wait, the FIFA World Cup is back for all of you soccer lovers. This year though, it is a little bit different than the previous ones. For the first time in history, the World Cup will be held in the Middle East and for the first time in November and December, rather than the summer months. The tournament is hosted by Qatar from November 21st to December 18th, but the decision to host the tournament has caused controversy. For starters, the fans will have to obey the conservative rules of this muslim country, among which are strict public behavior and no drinking in public places. But today, we’re not here to talk about that, we’re focusing on the so called fashion of this worldwide event, the soccer jerseys. Throughout the years, the soccer kits gained in importance. Design teams are trying their best to bring out the most unique jerseys while still representing the clubs and countries in the best way. When we talk about the best kits and most recognizable ones, we have to mention FC Barcelona with their unique blue and red design which can be recognized even by someone who isn’t such a soccer fan, Real Madrid with it’s unique white kits, Partis-Saint Germain with it’s signature Parisian flare, Portugal with it’s red and green combination and so much more. DSCENE team prepared a list of the best ones ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2022, read on to discover the list.

SPORTSWEAR

@fcbarcelona

FC Barcelona (Home)

One of the most popular worldwide clubs is definetly FC Barcelona. Having raised the soccer legend Messi, the club is also known for its signature blue and scarlet jerseys. For this 2022/23 season, FC Barcelona decided to stick with their team colors and upgrade their style with brand new sponsor. This Home kit is specially made for FC Barcelona’s La Liga matches (Spanish football league), which is also represented on the right sleeve with their official logo. On the front you can see that FC Barcelona has a new sponsor, Spotify. From July 1st, the two joined forces to bring soccer and music together. As a part of the partnership Barcelona’s players wore a special set of jerseys featuring Drake’s company OVO logo celebrating rapper’s 50 billion streams, and the number 50 on the back.

@usmnt

United States (Away)

United States of America comes back to the FIFA World Cup. After twenty years, the national team is looking to advance through the the Round of 16 for the first time since 2002. Given that the majority of the players are just starting off their careers, Nike included that while designing USA’s away kit. The away kit fetaures a tie-dye blue shirt to go with royal blue shorts and socks, woven authentic Nike jock tag on left hem and embroidered Nike logo on right chest.

@psg

Paris Saint-Germain (Home)

Following their French heritage, Paris Saint-Germain honors the flag colors with the home soccer kit for the 2022/23 season. The jersey combines authentic details, lightweight fabric with quick-drying to provide maximum freshness and comfort during exercise. Manufactured from recycled polyester fibers, the PSG home kit features Nike logo on the chest, as well as team logo and sponsor. From this season, the club has partnered with luxury reseller GOAT, which is now club’s sleeve sponsor. The collaboration presented the vintage PSG jerseys as well as apparel and accessories from GOAT’s archive.

@miseleccionmx

Mexico National Team (Away)

When preparing for the World Cup, every team wants to make sure their kits represent their country well. Mexico definetly did not dissapoint with their away soccer jersey inspired by ancient civilizations. The jersey is made from a yarn which contains 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, reimagined plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines, preventing it from polluting our ocean. Featuring a white base with red Mixtec art and Aztec deities to summon the fighting spirit of the players, the jersey also contains a brand new team badge.

@afaseleccion

Argentina National Team (Home)

For this year, adidas has introduced a range of sustainable but also stylish jerseys. Among them is Argentina, which definetly takes a high place on our list. Their national team is almost always recognizable by their three white and light blue stripes. Proudly representing their flag, Argentines stay true to their flag and team for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

@equipedefrance

France National Team (Home)

For the ocassion, Nike introduced a classic midnight navy jersey for France National Team. The simple yet elegant jersey represents this soccer force while pairing authentic design details with lightweight, quick-drying fabric. Made from 100% recycled polyester, the jersey features Nike logo on the right chest, FIFA logo on the center and France natiobnal team logo on the left part of the chest all in metallic gold colorway.

@japanfootballassociation

Japan National Team (Home)

For the World Cup, the national team of Japan chose adidas blue jersey designed with made up lines and showcases a flock of origami cranes, inspired by the federation badge. The jersey is made from the last season’s template fetauring red side panels and white inlets under the armpits. Comparing to the others, Japan honors their flag while still including a new color scheme.

@portugal

Portugal National Team (Away)

For the end of our list we saved the most simple yet effective design for this World Cup 2022, Portugal‘s Away soccer kit. Featuring a clear white base, with the colors of the national flag, the jersey combines details like authentic designs with lightweight fabric. With the motto Wear The Flag, Portugal National Team honors their country and their flag with this one of a kind design.
