Luxury house GUCCI appointed Italian designer Sabato De Sarno as the new creative director of the brand, succeeding Alessandro Michele who exited last November. De Sarno will present his debut runway collection at Milan Women’s Fashion Week in September 2023. He will lead Gucci‘s Design Studio, with the responsibility for defining and expressing the house’s creative vision across the women’s, men’s, leather goods, accessories and lifestyle collections.
De Sarno was born in Naples, Italy, he began his career at Prada in 2005, before moving to Dolce & Gabbana, and then to Valentino in 2009 where he was appointed as fashion director overseeing both men’s and women’s collections.
