This week, Phoebe Philo launched the new Instagram account for her namesake company, signaling the beginning of her comeback in the fashion industry. This is Philo’s first collaboration with LVMH, and you may pre-register your interest in the brand on its official website, starting in July 2023. The project is scheduled to launch in September 2023. There were suspicions about Phoebe Philo’s fashion career continuing at the beginning of 2020. The Business of Fashion has now responded to that request by announcing that Philo would return to fashion after a three-year absence. This time at the helm of Phoebe Philo Studios, a clothing and accessories label “rooted in exceptional quality and design”.
According to reports, LVMH has purchased a modest part in the new business, giving the British designer space and autonomy over decisions. Since she parted ways with Céline in 2017, the fashion industry has been eagerly awaiting her return. The short message was all Philo’s direct-to-consumer business needed to stir up the fashion scene, even if no other information was offered. The account already has over 118,000 followers in addition to the photo’s approximately 60,000 likes in just hours of posting. The line’s formal posting by the company comes over six years after Philo left Celine in 2017, and just over a year after she had originally planned for the line to debut in January 2022, a release date she had stated even earlier in June 2021.
Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling. I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. – Phoebe Philo
