1017 ALYX 9SM Menswear Spring Summer 2024 collection was presented during the currently ongoing Milano Fashion Week. The collection with ease highlights the strength of the label’s Creative Director, Matthew M. Williams, as well as the label’s Design Director, Lee Roach. This season, Alyx showcased a compelling assortment of clothing that exemplify urban flare as well as raw sophistication. This move was part of the brand’s foray into the domain of timeless sophistication.
The exceptional handling of materials, which gave each piece in the collection a sense of depth, personality, and a worn-in appearance, was the collection’s defining characteristic. Garments made of treated canvas were front and centre, and they had deep, earthy tones that were produced via over-dying and creative spraying. Canvas pants, vests, coats, and jackets emanated a feeling of rough sophistication, which was complimented by the urban swagger that characterizes the style of 1017 ALYX 9SM. The leather apparel, which was painstakingly created and had an unrivalled level of refinement, was another standout piece from the collection. A variety of garments, including bombers, jackets, vests, trousers, purses, and backpacks, had one-of-a-kind treatment techniques that displayed exceptional craftsmanship. The brand’s quest of elegance was embodied by the clothing made from treated leather, which exhibited a beguiling beauty and an appeal that transcends time.
For 1017 ALYX 9SM Menswear collection the jersey materials used in the collection each had exquisite embellishments, resulting in a visual feast that stimulated the senses. While needle punching woven texture and depth into the fabric, distressed textiles lent a rough and defiant edge to the overall look of the garment. The skilled artistry of intarsia resulted in hypnotic designs by interweaving different threads to make complicated patterns. These designs may be seen in a variety of textiles. Wearable masterpieces were produced as a consequence of the combination of vintage look treatments, which imparted a sense of nostalgic charm, and fresh graphics, which injected a contemporary touch into the jersey costume.
The instantly recognizable ‘A‘ logo, which is a trademark of 1017 ALYX 9SM, was prominently displayed over the entirety of the collection. The logo was cleverly woven into particular pieces of clothing, such as leather intarsia jackets, knitwear, jersey sets, and track suits. Whether it was elegantly overprinted or painstakingly embroidered, the letter ‘A’ logo is a true representation of the visionary nature of the company.
1017 ALYX 9SM Menswear footwear design masterfully continued to develop during the course of the show, and it was highlighted by the hefty sole shape. The footwear selection featured timelessly classic derby shoes and tough canvas combat boots that had been painstakingly constructed with an unwavering attention to every little detail. Footwear is a promising part of the Alyx brand, perhaps the component most likely to push forward the growth of the same.
1017 ALYX 9SM menswear is now already at home as part of Milan Fashion Week. This is easily changing the landscape of the MFW schedule and bringing in a different, more edgier point of view. The collection was able to demonstrate a perfect mix of urban flare, raw sophistication, and timeless elegance thanks to the careful handling of the textiles. ALYX a brand under Matthew and Lee is the one that never stops innovating in terms of design, and as a result, it continues to break new ground and win the hearts of fashion aficionados all over the world.
