Fashion house LUDOVIC DE SAINT SERNIN presented its Spring Summer 2024 Collection named Lust, on Sunday, June 25th, exactly 6 years after presenting their Debut Collection, at the Musée des Archives Nationales, during the last day of the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The collection is a colorful celebration of queer desire, joy, and power. Ludovic suggests a wardrobe that emanates libidinal elegance while rejecting prudish moralism and avoiding crude stereotypes.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
Flowing mermaid skirts and dresses with contrasting leather busts are precisely created from lightweight Japanese tweeds, infusing the pieces with artisanal charm. The ethereal fabrics are also employed in generously fitted suits and open-front shirts, giving the wearer a sensually confident and airy vibe. The collection also includes diaphanous, toga-inspired draped dresses with a breezy comfort. Front-laced leather corsets with eyelet accents pay homage to the brand’s iconic Cleavage bag. The classic baguette shape is updated in supple monochromatic calfskin with patent accents in Calder yellow, green, and blue. This season also sees the debut of a crossbody version of the iconic item.
The collection proudly celebrates Ludovic de Saint Sernin‘s trademark materials. Square-cut moto racing jackets, strapped bralettes, and lace-up briefs in supple lambskin highlight leather’s central role in the brand’s universe. Cropped denim jackets, vests, and relaxed jeans are available in a range of colors, including dusty rose and olive, as well as cerulean and taupe. The collection also includes net-hemmed gowns with front slashes, halterneck sash tops, and monogrammed totes made from sparkling crystal mesh, which was graciously supported by Swarovski and handcrafted by Ludovic.
The jewelry pieces were created in partnership with Vagujhelyi, a company developed by New York-based artist Diego Villarreal Vagujhelyi. These courtship cuffs, discipline chokers, and knuckle rings, made of clay and raw white brass cast, recall the innate sexiness found in acts of surrender. They turn the decision to impose physical restrictions into an assertion of autonomy, agency, and control. Ultimately, Lust is a joyful and complex depiction of LGBT identity – a proud testament to the values that form the foundation of the house of Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
