Rains explores the essence of water and embodies the confidence of a wardrobe that embraces it in their Spring-Summer 2024 collection. Named ‘Drenched,’ this collection combines innovative textiles with contemporary Scandinavian design, resulting in spirited, functional clothing deeply influenced by rainfall.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
As the audience gathers far away from water, they are enveloped in a soundscape reminiscent of water—dripping, rippling, and pouring. Resonant piano notes mark the beginning of the show, accompanied by the dreamy, ethereal compositions of Danish Composer Frederik Valentin, evoking the essence of rainfall.
Contrast is a central tool in the journey of Rains. This season, space was created to consider the unexplored in our own waterproof DNA.

The opening ensemble immediately captures attention—an homage to Rains’ iconic rainwear silhouettes. Models enter the dry show space as if emerging from a downpour outside, with saturated hair and surreal raindrop adornments on their skin. The atmosphere is focused and centered, with all eyes fixed on the runway’s energy.
Rains was born out of the rain. This link underscores the Spring–Summer 2024 ‘Drenched’ collection and the visual language woven throughout.

The first chapter of the collection draws inspiration from a retrospective study of the classic rain jacket. As the hooded models make their way through the crowd, a sense of familiarity intertwines with novelty and sophistication. Garments evolve with cascading fringes that mimic the illusion of falling raindrops.
Rains’ signature waterproof fabrics undergo innovative treatments and techniques that result in finishes that provide a tactile sensation of fluidity. Certain garments give the impression of being drenched in water, showcasing textured elements like puckering, crinkling, and gathering. Upon closer examination of the accessories, elemental design details emerge, including extended straps flowing from buckles, enhancing the perception of vertical movement.
