Designer Alexis Mabille presented his Fall Winter 2023.24 Haute Couture Collection named Mondaines – a French phrase for enchanting social butterflies known for lavish lifestyles and flirty nocturnal activities – with a fashion show during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The name of the collection can be loosely translated as “socialites,” but it has a little more provocative connotation in French. Mabille was inspired by iconic figures such as Nan Kempner, Bianca Jagger, and Nico, who personified the “Divine Mondaines.” Despite their diverse backgrounds, these women shared a sense of flair, charisma, and a natural enthusiasm for life. The collection reflects the spirit of these extraordinary ladies. For the season, Mabille explores today’s sleek and trendy silhouettes, and refreshes the brand’s signature pieces.
