Fashion brand Y-3 presented the third chapter of its Fall Winter 2023 collection, that reimagines athletic symbols, silhouettes, and materials through Yohji Yamamoto’s rebellious design vision. For over twenty years, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto have been at the forefront of avant-garde sportswear, always pushing limits.

Inspired by adidas‘ outstanding sporting tradition, Chapter 3‘s apparel collection sees Y-3 transform previous seasons’ collegiate motifs into an entirely new context. Kettle stitch embroidery, chenille patches, puff prints, and engineered knits are used to expertly apply vintage varsity style lettering on jackets, t-shirts, and hoodies. A handpicked selection of quilted pieces with cutlines inspired by the adidas Originals Aloxe tracksuit, including jackets, vests, skirts, and pants, is also included in the collection.

The footwear stays true to its conceptual drive, it features the Y-3 CENTENNIAL HI and Y-3 CENTENNIAL LO, recreating classic athletic footwear shapes with upgraded material make-ups. The collection also includes new twists on classic adidas Originals shapes like the Y-3 SUPERSTAR, Y-3 MARATHON TR, and Y-3 GAZELLE.

The Y-3 Fall Winter 2023 Chapter 3 collection is complemented by an impressive array of daring accessories, such as elevated totes, exercise bags, knit beanies, and caps, among others.

Y-3 traveled to Yohji Yamamoto’s homeland of Japan for the brand’s Spring Summer 2023 campaign. The latest journey in the seasonal saga brings the emphasis to adidas’ own country, Germany, documenting the thriving creative community of Berlin. The campaign, filmed in personally meaningful settings by local photographer Lengua and motion filmmaker Thyago Sainte, includes a captivating cast of musical figures who call Berlin home. LA Timpa is a genre-bending Nigerian-born producer, singer, and songwriter; Tricky is a cult British musician, rapper, and producer; Mobile Girl is an eclectic DJ and experimental musician; Tobias aka Why Be is a Korean producer and DJ; Bill Kouligas is a trailblazing artist, designer, and musician; and Dimitra and Soraya are the formidable DJ duo and co-founders of Kontinuum Productions. The campaign captures the essence of Berlin’s unique energy and creativity.

The Y-3 Fall Winter 2023 Chapter 3 collection, with a new vision for sporting-inspired design, will be available on adidas.com/y-3, at Y-3 stores, and through select global retailers beginning August 1st.
