Powerpuff Girls, every millenial’s favourite Cartoon Network series has long been making a comeback into popular culture. Back in 2018 one of the 1st to bring back the girls was British indie Designer Katie Eary who dedicated her complete Fall collection to the girls. Since, we have seen a resurgence of Powerpuff Girls merchandise, notebooks, cups, backpacks and various clothing lines. However, the latest to bring the girls back is Nike with its Powerpuff Girls Dunk SB Collection as part of the 25th anniversary of the famed cartoon series. Needless to say, the new sneakers are an instant collector’s dream!
Launching globally in 2 days, and already able to pre-order this Dunk Low collection brings your beloved Powerpuff Girl fandom to life. Something tells us Professor Utonium had his way with the design of the collection. The collection would not be as special if each of the girls didn’t get its own shoe, yes Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup each have their own special design and colourway.
The Bubbles Dunk SB colorway showcases her hallmark colours, Tour Yellow and University Blue, by utilising materials, images from the cartoon, and artwork that are all beautifully inspired by the iconic cartoon series. Similar yellow laces and Swoosh panels pay respect to the classic hairstyle of the girl crimefighters, while the conspicuous blue laser eyes are sewn on the heel of the shoe. The design is completely finished off with jacquard elements, reflective design piping, and a translucent outsole with a blue tinge inside.
When it comes to Blossom Dunks, we are certain you already know the nuances! The Nike dunks which features both Magma Orange and Lotus Pink. associated with Blossom While the distinctive pink laser eyes of the girl crimefighter are stitched on the heel, red leather hearts are embroidered on bright orange laces as a tribute to the iconic hairstyle that the law enforcement officer wore. “Everything nice” is brought to the colourful and daring design by the jacquard accents, reflective piping, and icy, translucent lotus pink outsole. Each of the girls also get its unique design moments with each show, for example the Blossom Dunks feature a cut out leather heart at the center of the lacing.
And last but not least the Buttercup Nike Dunks (do not blame us if we admit Buttercup was our favourite), The Buttercup design is here to show her characteristic colours, which are Black and Mean Green, which are both fiery. The eye-catching design is finished off with luminous design piping, luxurious jacquard accents, and also the green-tinted translucent outsoles. Buttercup’s big green eyes are sewn on the heel of the shoe.
However, be warned, for all 3, the insole is featuring Mojo Jojo and should be avoided at all costs! Release Date for all three Powerpuff Girls Dunk SB Collection designs on Flight club is scheduled for 14th of December. Powerpuff Girls Dunk SB Collection is also featuring a limited edition cartoon themed boxes, corresponding with the each of the design.

To celebrate the release Nike Skateboarding and Nike have collaborated with the cartoon team on a special promo video, as well as enlisting the suprstar sk8er girls Leticia Bufoni, Rayssa Leal, and Sky Brown to test run the collection.
