Ermanno Scervino‘s Fall Winter 2024 collection, titled “Fashion Atlas,” presents a narrative of strength and seduction, symbolized through the body and its clothing. This season, Scervino explores the concept of clothing as armor, presenting pieces that balance sculptural traits with hard-edged femininity. The collection stands on the precipice between protection and revelation.
The designs focus on the power of the female form, it’s intellect, wit, and seduction. Scervino’s craftsmanship is seen in tailoring and use of heritage menswear fabrics, such as pinstripes and grisaille wool, transformed into garments that both sculpt and caress the body. Hourglass blazers are also evident, drop-shoulder herringbone overcoats, and enveloping bustier dresses.
Corsetry, a recurring element in Scervino’s work, emerges as a symbol of seduction, featured in various iterations throughout the Ermanno Scervino’s FW 2024 collection, from double wool bras paired with intarsia midi skirts to hand-quilted nude-colored frocks and embroidered organza gowns.
Materials such as crocodile-embossed leather and shearling serve as metaphors for adaptability and resilience, offering protection while highlighting the collection’s sensual undertones. The play on proportions is further pushed by accessories like fluffy après-ski boots in faux fur and high-heeled sock boots, complemented by shearling and Mongolian jackets.
