Apple TV+ is getting ready for the Summer 2024 premiere of its highly anticipated dramedy, “Land of Women,” featuring Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria in the lead role. Longoria, who also takes on the role of executive producer, stars alongside the legendary Carmen Maura and newcomer Victoria Bazúa in this six-episode series. “Land of Women” is a novel adaptation that breaks new ground by being shot in both English and Spanish, offering viewers the option to watch in either language, aligning with the streaming service’s global reach.

The series follows the story of Gala, played by Longoria, a New Yorker facing an empty nest who finds her world crumbling when her husband’s financial wrongdoings force her to flee with her aging mother (played by Maura) and college-age daughter (played by Bazúa). The trio seeks refuge in a quaint wine town in northern Spain, a place Gala’s mother abandoned fifty years prior with a vow never to return. As they attempt to start afresh and keep their identities hidden, the small town’s propensity for gossip unveils deep-seated family secrets and truths, challenging their hopes for anonymity and a new beginning.
“Land of Women” is inspired by the bestselling novel of the same name by award-winning author Sandra Barneda. The show is a creation of Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Paula Fernández, with Carlos Sedes, an Iris Award winner, directing. Produced by Apple Studios and Bambú Producciones, the series boasts an impressive executive production team, including showrunner Ramón Campos, Teresa Fernández-Valdés (also an Iris Award winner), Ben Spector, and Eva Longoria through her production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. Founded in 2005 by Longoria, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment focuses on producing film, television, and documentaries that resonate with audiences worldwide.
