Maserati marked a significant moment in their history with the “Folgore Day” held in Rimini, at the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley. This event commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Modena-based automaker but also their entry into the electric era. The day was dedicated to showcasing the Folgore line, Maserati’s first all-electric range. The lineup includes vehicles like the GranTurismo Folgore, Maserati’s all-electric car, and the Grecale Folgore, its initial electric SUV.
The face of the promotional video and campaign is Damiano David from Maneskin. In the video, under the phrase “It Turns You On,” Damiano is shown driving the different vehicles from the all-electric range, building a story that connects Italian heritage and personality stereotypes with the brand and it’s vision for the Folgore Line.
The company has initiated this transition with models such as the GranCabrio Folgore, a convertible that continues the legacy of its acclaimed grand tourer sibling and launched at the event. Looking ahead to 2025, the MC20 Folgore will debut as a super sports car within this electric lineup. Maserati’s strategic vision aims for complete electrification of its fleet by 2028, maintaining all design and production processes in Italy, especially centered around Modena and the historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant.
Folgore Day was not just about introducing new models but also about positioning Maserati at the forefront of the electric luxury market. The event featured thematic areas like electric mobility, showing innovative components like the Grecale Folgore’s integrated chassis and battery setup, and the personalization opportunities offered through the Maserati Fuoriserie program. Moreover, the day included the unveiling of “TRIDENTE,” a luxury electric boat.
