Best sneaker releases for May 2024 rounded up by DSCENE Magazine sneakers editors, starting with the 1st drop out today taking you all the way till the last day of May.

We are in for a memorable month thanks to Nike, so get ready and open your calendars:

Air Jordan 4 Military Blue (5/4)

The ‘Military Blue’ colour quickly turned into the signature of the Air Jordan 4 Retro GS, which was reissued in 2024. It is one of the four original hues of the iconic style. And these coveted bright blue accents are used throughout the shoe.

Shaping the sneaker is the off-white leather used for the upper, which has TPU support wings in addition to the breathable quarter panel net throughout the design. In addition to the moulded eyelets, the Jumpman tongue tag is woven, and the rear tab is decorated with Nike Air branding.  An exposed Air-sole cushioning system is located in the heel of the lightweight polyurethane midsole, which also has a blue topline. This  also known as the Jordan 4 Industrial blue is available today!  And not to forget, there’s also a baby toddler version dropping today!

Futura Laboratories x Dunk Low SB Bleach Aqua (5/10)

In less than a week away Nike is to bring its long awaited Futura drop, create in collaboration with the much talked about graffiti artist Futura. We saw it for the first time late last year, and the fans have been speculating the date since. The Futura Laboratories x Nike Dunk Low SB ‘Bleached Aqua’ is going heavy on the details, this time the highlight is certainly suede Swoosh designed with a dark teal finish.  Additionally, the signature of the artist is engraved on the lateral heel, and the FL logo is displayed on the other side of the heel. Slippery traction is provided by a transparent rubber outsole with a blue tint that is located underfoot.

Travis Scott x Wmns AJ 1 Low Canary (5/17)

Coming our way a week later in mid May is the latest from Travis Scott’s incredibly successful collaboration streek with Nike – The reverse swoosh is now a signature for anything Scott with nike, in current and upcoming drops. And the WMNS AJ 1 low canary is giving us all that we want from a Travis Scott x Nike collaboration. The tongue is designed with a red and black Nike Air tag, and the heel tab of each shoe features a mismatched Cactus Jack and Wings logo both embroidered. Expected to drop on May 17th.

Air Jordan 11 Low Space Jam (5/18)

A day later Air Jordan is back with the Air Jordan 11 Low Space Jam dropping on the May 18th, by this point the sneaker is a classic. However, the summer 2024 comes in total black top in combo with white sole coated in translucent baby blue  – Ever since it made its debut in the basketball world in 1996, the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Men’s Shoe has managed to become one of the most looked out for Jordan designs in the history of the brand. Its Nike Air cushioning is one of the most beloved features.

Nike KD 4 Weatherman 2024 (5/21)

The Nike KD 4 “Weatherman” is immediately noticeable due to its visually distinctive colouring and design, this blend of green, volt, and orange hues that are reminiscent of Doppler radar imagery is featured on the shoe. Created in collaboration with Nike Basketball and Kevin Durant the design is inspired by believe it or not Durant’s interest in weather patterns. The end result of this collab is a trainer that is here to turn heads, but also live up to it’s promised performance features. Nike KD 4 Weatherman is ready to drop on May 21st.

J Balvin x AJ 3 Rio (5/22)

Latin superstar J Balvin may be the latest to the Nike family, but his collaboration with the sneaker giant is giving us everything we can imagine. The cool total black with a streak of rainbow red is close to J’s aesthetic and results in the coolest new sneaker of the year. The rapper teaser the release on January 1st, with the image show above, finally the fans of the latin rapper superstar can get their hands on the pair on May 22nd.

Wmns Air Jordan 1 High Latte (5/29)

We are talking about a Nike classic here, and our personal highlight for the sneaker releases may 2024 – this trainer, which comes in the following colorways: Black/Legend Medium Brown/White/Sail, has an Air-sole heel unit encased in a lightweight polyurethane wedge for comfort, and an off-white rubber midsole. The heel and collar flap are dark brown, while the pristine white leather upper has the black forefoot overlay and the iconic Swoosh. The tongue is embellished with a Nike Air tag, and no worries WMNS Air Jordan 1 High latte displays the Wings logo – get your latte coffee ready and grab a pair on May 29th 2024.

Nike Kobe 4 Girl Dad (5/31)

And last but not the least in sneaker releases may 2024 drops, the sneaker drop you can’t miss is the Nike Kobe 4 Girl Dad style. This sneaker best captures the relationship that Kobe Bryant had with his daughters. Black details on the Nike Swoosh, collar lining, and inner tongue contrast with a subdued teal suede upper with rolled edges. When it comes to the must have details the Kobe autograph is displayed on the lateral side of a silver-like plated heel counter. And what makes this sneaker special is inscription that reads “Girl Dad” is displayed on the inside tongue, with this shoe it is all about the details.
