CFDA Unveils Official New York Fashion Week Schedule: Spring/Summer 2025

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced the preliminary schedule for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Spring/Summer 2025. The American collections will officially commence with Area on Friday, September 6, and will close with Melitta Baumeister, the 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The excitement is palpable as the fashion community prepares for a week filled with innovative designs and groundbreaking presentations.

The preliminary schedule includes over 60 confirmed runway shows and designer presentations, with additional collections showcased digitally and by appointment. Among the returning brands are some of fashion’s most revered names, such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Andrew Kwon, Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, and Coach. These established designers will be joined by others like Collina Strada, Delpozo, Diotima, Eckhaus Latta, and Jason Wu, ensuring a diverse and vibrant week that celebrates both tradition and innovation.

This season will also see the return of brands like COS, Cynthia Rowley, Simkhai, and Who Decides War to the New York runway. Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler will preview their collections just ahead of NYFW, adding to the anticipation. The CFDA is particularly thrilled to welcome international guests Off-White, Ronald van der Kemp, and TOTEME, who will be showcasing their collections in New York City for the first time, marking a significant moment of cross-cultural exchange and creativity.

First-time additions to the schedule include emerging designers Advisry, Campillo, Michael Fausto, Salon 1884, and TWP. Their inclusion underscores NYFW’s commitment to fostering new talent and providing a platform for fresh voices in fashion. This season also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, with current finalist brands like 5000, Grace Ling, Kate Barton, Jane Wade, Presley Oldham, Sebastien Ami, and Wiederhoeft presenting their latest collections during the week.

The CFDA NYFW Travel Fund, established in 2022, continues to support the presence of international editors, enhancing the global reach of NYFW. Now in its fifth season, the fund has aided nearly 40 international editors through financial and in-kind support from brand contributions and strategic partnerships. This initiative not only underscores NYFW’s cultural and economic significance but also strengthens relationships between global media and American designer brands.

Joseph Maglieri, Director of Fashion Week Initiatives at CFDA, emphasized the importance of NYFW as a hub for American fashion. “NYFW remains the home base for showcasing the best of American fashion. This season boasts a powerful lineup of established and emerging brands experimenting with forward-thinking ways of presenting their collections. The CFDA is taking additional action to strengthen an already robust week, addressing calls for improvements across logistics and strategy to benefit both brands and attendees. We are proud of the September schedule, which represents the designers, brand leaders, communications and media teams, show producers, casting directors, and more who make the week a reality,” he said.
