Ella Mae Jepsen made her New York Fashion Week debut with Peace on Earth !!, a Spring Summer 2027 collection shaped by 18th-century dress, early-2000s club culture and environmental concerns. Jepsen described the concept through the unlikely pairing of Marie Antoinette and Jersey Shore, using both references to push femininity toward excess, humor and rebellion. BACKSTAGE
The collection developed that idea through corsets, capri pants, graphic T-shirts, ruffled skirts and exposed lingerie. Silk taffeta, feathers and sheer layers added texture, and low-rise proportions introduced another early-2000s reference. Bras, bloomer-style underwear and garters became visible parts of the styling. One off-the-shoulder T-shirt carried the message “Earth Our Mother, take care,” connecting the clothes directly to Jepsen’s environmental concerns.
Pink appeared throughout the collection with seafoam green, burnt orange, brick red, pale blue, brown, grey, black and white. Plaid and stripes added further variation. Large wraparound sunglasses, ruffled garters and feathered hair extended the styling. The show setting continued the same direction through pink curtains, Ionic columns, a Rococo mural and peace signs.
Jepsen founded Ella Mae in Los Angeles in 2021 after studying apparel design at Rhode Island School of Design. She began sewing at six and learned garment construction through her mother’s quilt-making in rural Colorado. Her label follows an earth-first approach based on small-batch production, deadstock, natural fibres and dyes made from rust, botanical roots and food waste.
That environmental focus directly informs Peace on Earth !! Jepsen connects climate awareness with an unapologetically feminine wardrobe and delivers the message through pink, ruffles, feathers, exposed underwear and graphics. Her approach gives environmental concern a playful and highly decorative form, allowing glamour and activism to occupy the same collection.
