The ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360™ VIII collaboration with Chopova Lowena brings striking visual design to the technicality of the sneaker. Known for its folklore-inspired fashion, Chopova Lowena has pushed the boundaries of sneaker aesthetics by decorating the GEL-QUANTUM 360™ VIII with unique embellishments such as rhinestones, oversized metal butterflies, and special hardware. These additions transform the shoe from a high-performance runner into a true statement piece.
SNEAKERS
The sneakers are still equipped with ASICS’ cutting-edge performance technology, including the FF BLAST™ cushioning and GEL™ technology, which ensure comfort and stability. However, Chopova Lowena’s touch is most visible in the bold redesign of the upper structure. The sneakers have been modified to feature Mary-Jane-inspired designs, with some models even doing away with traditional laces, replaced by large, shiny metal buckles.
One of the most distinctive aspects of this collection is the use of colors and textures. While the base sneaker remains true to ASICS’ signature athletic form, Chopova Lowena introduced silver accents, reflective bulbs, and gold trinkets on certain models.
This collaboration also emphasizes social responsibility. A portion of the sales proceeds will be donated to The 999 Club, a mental health charity in South East London. This partnership aligns with ASICS’ “Crafts for Mind” initiative, which seeks to promote creativity and wellness by supporting causes that focus on mental health.
Initially showcased as part of Chopova Lowena’s Spring Summer 2025 collection during London Fashion Week, the shoes will retail exclusively at Dover Street Market London, launching on Tuesday, 17 September, for the price of £280. However, as the brand humorously notes, they are “to be worn at your own risk,” acknowledging the daring design elements.
