adidas Originals debuts A-TYPE, a continuously evolving collection dedicated to redefining archival silhouettes through exceptional materials and expert craftsmanship. This new line draws from decades of design history, refining classic pieces with elevated fabrications and artisanal construction. Developed in collaboration with leading European ateliers, A-TYPE takes a focused approach to reinterpreting heritage models with contemporary precision.

Each season, A-TYPE revisits key designs from adidas’ extensive archives, updating them with sophisticated detailing while maintaining the essence that made them cultural staples. The collection’s introduction showcases a new version of the Superstar, the Firebird tracksuit, and the Airliner bag, each reimagined with high-end materials and a refined aesthetic. The monochromatic palette enhances the understated luxury of the collection, which is complemented by a selection of silver Trefoil jewelry.

For its launch campaign, adidas enlisted stylist Matthew Henson and photographer Gabriel Moses to present A-TYPE through a visual narrative featuring DJ Hank Korsan, Pusha T, Tyshawn Jones, Selena Forrest, Fiffany Luu, and Paloma Elsesser. The cast highlights the collection’s intersection of sport, music, and fashion, reinforcing the continued relevance of these reinterpreted classics.

Superstar A-TYPE

The Superstar has held a defining role in sneaker culture since its introduction in 1970. Originally created as a basketball shoe, it later became a fixture in hip-hop and streetwear. A-TYPE revisits the earliest prototype of the silhouette, enhancing its construction with premium leather, a debossed canvas texture on the Three Stripes, and cashmere shoelaces featuring detachable silver-plated lace tips. Handmade in Italy, the design incorporates a Lightstrike Pro midsole for modern comfort. Each pair is packaged in a custom-molded shoebox and includes wooden shoe trees and white gloves, mirroring the presentation standards of the adidas archive.

Firebird Tracksuit

The Firebird tracksuit, initially developed for athletes in the 1980s, has since become an emblem of casual sportswear. A-TYPE elevates the classic Track Top, Track Pants, and Track Shorts by replacing traditional materials with supple leather, introducing a more structured yet refined look. To complement these pieces, the collection includes two cashmere-blend t-shirts designed for everyday styling.

A-TYPE Airliner Bag

The Airliner bag, first introduced in the 1970s for athletes carrying their gear, returns in two versions: the A-TYPE Airliner Large and the A-TYPE Airliner Small. Constructed from high-quality leather with a cotton-lined interior, both iterations feature premium hardware and a detachable belt.

Trefoil Jewelry

Completing the collection, A-TYPE includes a range of sterling silver accessories, incorporating the Trefoil emblem across pendant necklaces, rings, and earrings.
