Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS push their collaboration forward with the third iteration of the Gel-Kiril, introducing two new colorways and refined design elements. Drawing from the evolution of Japanese worker uniforms, the Gel-Kiril 3 fuses ASICS’ technical expertise with Kostadinov’s unconventional approach to footwear. This long-standing partnership continues to challenge traditional sneaker aesthetics, introducing experimental textures and functional upgrades that set the latest model apart.

The Gel-Kiril 3 builds upon ASICS’ past workwear footwear, integrating utilitarian elements that reflect its inspiration. The most striking addition is a raised TPU front, enhancing both structure and durability. The lateral overlays feature a debossed pattern that gives the shoes a rugged, almost reptilian texture, reinforcing the workwear aesthetic. These details come together to create a sneaker that bridges performance with a distinctive visual identity.

This latest version of the Gel-Kiril arrives in two distinct color schemes. One features a rich brown upper accented by yellow details, offering a grounded yet energetic look. The other opts for a darker base, with black as the dominant tone, punctuated by electric blue overlays that add contrast. Textured embossing extends from the uppers to the outsoles, ensuring a consistent, layered aesthetic throughout the design.

The in-motion campaign brings the inspiration behind the Gel-Kiril 3 to life. Shot just outside Tokyo, the visuals feature real workers, Daisuke, Kenta, and Rikiya, constructing traditional scaffolding in Chiba. Their presence emphasizes the functional influences behind the shoe, reinforcing its connection to everyday movement.

Ahead of the official release, ASICS and Kostadinov have planned a series of activations in key cities. In Los Angeles, a performance by Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo will take place on February 21, while London’s ICA will host performances by Patrick Belaga and Bill Kouligas the following day. Both events will offer early access to the Gel-Kiril 3, giving attendees the first opportunity to secure a pair before the wider launch.

Following the in-person events, the Gel-Kiril 3 will see a digital release on Monday, February 24, at 10 AM GMT via the brand’s web store. With its workwear-inspired design, bold textures, and distinct colorways, this latest installment in the Kostadinov-ASICS collaboration continues to push sneaker design into new territory.
