
Netflix is set to premiere Bad Boy, the latest series from Euphoria creator Ron Leshem and filmmaker Hagar Ben Asher, on May 2. The award-winning and critically acclaimed series offers a raw, emotional portrayal of youth and redemption, building on Leshem’s legacy of telling raw, emotionally charged stories. Co-created and co-written by Leshem and Ben Asher, with Ben Asher directing the entire series, Bad Boy is inspired by real-life events and has already made an impressive debut in its home country.

Produced by North Road Company and Sipur in partnership with Israel’s HOT and Tedy Productions, Bad Boy tells the story of Dean Scheinman, a teenager navigating life inside a juvenile detention center. Over the course of the series, Dean discovers a creative gift that allows him to heal not only his own wounds but also those of the people around him. The show delivers a gripping examination of brotherhood, survival, and the possibility of redemption in the harshest environments.
The series first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023, where it received strong critical reception. It later debuted on HOT in Israel in November 2024, quickly becoming a major success. Netflix acquired the global streaming rights soon after, bringing the show to a worldwide audience for the first time this spring.
