Netflix has dropped the official teaser trailer for the second season of Wednesday, confirming the gothic hit will return in two parts. Jenna Ortega reprises her breakout role as Wednesday Addams, stepping further into the character’s twisted world. Season 2 premieres its first batch of episodes on August 6, followed by the second part on September 3.

Picking up inside the eerie halls of Nevermore Academy, the new season finds Wednesday navigating the growing complexity of her psychic abilities and unraveling more layers of her family’s shadowy legacy. “The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her,” Ortega told Tudum. “She runs circles around everyone that she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be—it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.”
The teaser reveals that Wednesday is not the only Addams returning to Nevermore. Her younger brother, Pugsley Addams, played by Isaac Ordonez, joins her for the first time at the academy. As he begins his own journey, Wednesday faces a new wave of challenges, including a rising body count, lingering mysteries from her parents’ past, and the expanding reach of her supernatural abilities. All of it unfolds within the heightened tension and gothic edge that made the show a phenomenon.
Season 2 continues to build out the Addams universe with a stacked cast. Returning characters include Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. The season also introduces major additions, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, and Noah Taylor, with surprise appearances from Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, and Lady Gaga in a still-undisclosed role.

Behind the camera, the original creative team reunites to shape the sophomore season. Tim Burton returns to direct select episodes, joined by Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar continue as showrunners, with MGM Television producing. With Ortega now involved as a producer, the season promises a tighter connection between the character’s evolution and the show’s broader vision.
