Edward Enninful Launches Moncler x EE72 Genius Project

Edward Enninful launches his first Moncler Genius collection under the banner Moncler x EE72. He imagines a wardrobe for a global adventurer who moves through sun-scorched dunes, windswept shores, and snow-covered peaks. He builds every look for function, adaptability, and layers, while keeping a single palette: black. The name EE72 references his initials and birth year, signaling a personal imprint from concept to finish.

Enninful brings three decades of influence to this project. He became fashion director of i-D at eighteen, led British Vogue as editor-in-chief, and later served as Vogue’s Global Creative and Cultural Advisor. He has championed diversity, creativity, and cultural progress throughout his career. He now introduces his media and entertainment company EE72, with Moncler as its first co-creator.

The design language merges Moncler’s technical codes, puffer structures and boudin quilting, with structured shoulders and couture-influenced silhouettes. He balances high-fashion attitude with utility and modular construction, so pieces shift with climate and situation. Enninful extends the idea through accessories, from hats to bags, to complete each head-to-toe configuration.

He maps the design on three elements:

Wind: An elegant trench sets the tone with a matte finish and sleek lines. A removable outer puffer in glossy nylon laqué locks in protection when weather turns. Interior straps let the wearer detach the outer layer and carry it like a backpack. A puffer hood ties at the neck like a scarf, and Cloche sunglasses sharpen the profile.

Sand: A slim scuba dress anchors this set, paired with a sculptural hooded cape and a floor-length scarf. The look nods to Moncler’s puffer lineage while it keeps movement free and light.

Snow: A layered build starts with a finely knit wool turtleneck, adds a cardigan dress, and tops with an oversized merino wool jacket. A balaclava seals in warmth, and Trailgrip EE72 boots handle frozen ground.

Every look follows the same logic: build a base, add protection, and switch elements without breaking the line. The wardrobe reads as a system rather than a series of isolated outfits. Hats and bags extend the idea so each configuration stays ready for shifts in temperature and terrain.

Photographer Tyler Mitchell captures the campaign with supermodel Adut Akech as the face. Mitchell and Enninful develop images that move between shifting sand and crystalline snow. Akech stands as the hero of this narrative, equipped for raw and remote terrain, styled with layered silhouettes and dynamic accessories that echo the collection’s modular logic.

Moncler and Enninful bring the concept to the street with a window installation at Saks Fifth Avenue’s New York Flagship, coinciding with the start of New York Fashion Week. The presentation unfolds over seven windows at 5th Avenue and 50th Street: three show golden dunes, three show snow-topped peaks, and the center window stages a meeting of sand and snow.

This collection marks Enninful’s first venture into fashion design. It aligns with the Moncler Genius approach of partnering with significant creative minds, established and emerging. He brings a point of view that fuses high fashion, function, and modular design, and grounds that view in Moncler’s technical expertise. The result reads as a complete system for travel through wind, sand, and snow – delivered in black, from apparel to accessories.
