Nike Basketball releases the next phase of the Devin Booker signature line through the Book 2 footwear and apparel collection. Booker worked closely with Nike designers to build a shoe that reflects his vision for a modern classic, shaped by references to skateboarding, vintage cars, and classic Nike sportswear. The Book 2 debuts with an apparel range designed to echo the atmosphere of his career in Phoenix, using finishes that create a sun-faded effect.

Booker approached the Book 2 with a precise goal. He asked Nike to create a basketball shoe that sits low to the court while maintaining comfort and performance. The result is a low-profile design built around a forefoot Air Zoom unit, a Cushlon 3.0 midsole, and a soft foam sock liner. These components give the shoe a responsive feel that remains stable during quick movements. “A big thing for me was feeling the court and being a bit lower to the ground,” Booker explains. He viewed the Air Zoom Spiridon as an early reference point and wanted the first colorways to honor Phoenix with orange and black options for fans.

Booker brought a curator’s eye to the process, drawing from classic Nike designs. The outsole borrows from the structure of the Air Force 1 and introduces a new sun-dappled herringbone traction pattern. The pattern references Phoenix while supporting speed, pivots, and precise footwork. Subtle cactus-inspired details and small asterisks hand-drawn by Booker appear throughout the shoe. A lateral outrigger widens the base for added stability, supporting sharp side-to-side moves.

During development, Booker and the Nike team explored multiple approaches to midfoot containment. Inspired once again by the Air Zoom Spiridon, two Book 2 versions use a lightweight webbed mesh upper, while the remaining models introduce a molded upper that carries a more modern visual language. Both constructions offer a controlled fit and strong midfoot support. Lead designer Ben Nethongkome describes the process as a continuation of the approach behind the Book 1: innovation housed within a classic look. Lowering the overall profile allowed the team to reposition the Air Zoom unit from the heel to the forefoot, giving Booker the court feel he requested while reducing weight.

The Book 2 collection arrives in colorways shaped by Booker’s understanding of style as an extension of self. The palette reflects moments taken from his years in Phoenix, his collegiate story, and the environments that informed his growth as a player.

Booker’s apparel line extends this vision with eight pieces that reference basketball culture and life in the desert. Nike and Booker tested dyes, prints, and finishes to find a direction that produced a sun-faded effect. The pieces use heavyweight fabrics shaped by classic basketball cuts and finished with laser etching.

The apparel includes long-sleeve T-shirts dedicated to Haven, Booker’s first Cane Corso mastiff, and a cutoff shirt designed to his exact preferences. A woven jacket, game pant, brushed hoodie, short, and pant complete the lineup. Nike Book 2 footwear and apparel will be available in January 2026 on Nike’s website and at select retail locations.
