Nike introduces a two-shoe Kobe 11 Protro pack for Mamba Day 2026. The launch aligns with April 13, marking Kobe Bryant’s final NBA game in 2016, when he scored 60 points against the Utah Jazz. The release marks the 10th anniversary of that performance and brings back the Kobe 11 in updated Protro form.

The pack includes the Kobe 11 Protro Mamba Day and the Kobe 11 Elite Protro Fade to Black. Both pairs keep the low-cut structure introduced during Kobe’s final season while integrating updated performance technology. Nike builds on the Protro concept first introduced in 2018, where Kobe Bryant pushed for retro models that perform at a current on-court level.

The Kobe 11 Protro Mamba Day arrives in a black mesh construction with Metallic Gold numerology references across the upper. These graphics point to key moments in Kobe’s career, including his 81-point game, five championships, and 18 All-Star appearances.
The Elite Protro Fade to Black version takes a different direction while keeping the same color palette. This pair features a black Flyknit upper with Metallic Gold accents. The concept draws from the exact Kobe 11 worn during his final game.

Both pairs introduce updated cushioning through a ReactX drop-in midsole, replacing the Lunarlon foam used in the original Kobe 11. Nike pairs this setup with a heel Air Zoom unit to provide responsive cushioning suited for modern play. The outsole features a revised tread pattern that supports traction and court feel, aligning with the performance focus of the Protro line. Each version includes a “2026” stamp on the back of the tongue, marking the anniversary edition and distinguishing the release from its 2016 predecessor.
The Kobe 11 holds a specific place in Bryant’s signature line as the final model he wore during his NBA career. Designed by Eric Avar, the original Kobe 11 introduced a drop-in midsole system that emphasized lightweight construction and performance. The Protro update retains that structure while integrating current cushioning technology.
Nike will release both pairs on April 13, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The Kobe 11 Protro Mamba Day carries a retail price of $220, while the Kobe 11 Elite Protro Fade to Black is priced at $200.
