Jordan Brand brings back the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” for Fall 2026, returning the non-original colorway to stores more than a decade after its previous release in 2015. The model first appeared in 2003 and developed a strong following through its restrained black-and-grey palette, metallic details and recognizable Air Jordan 8 construction.

For the 2026 edition, Jordan Brand adjusts the fit and overall shape to more closely follow the original mold. The update keeps the familiar character of the “Chrome” colorway while refining the proportions of the silhouette. A premium black nubuck upper forms the main structure, creating a dark base for the metallic and grey details that distinguish this release.

Chrome-colored hardware appears on the strap buckles and through sections of the midsole. These metallic elements provide the defining visual feature behind the “Chrome” name and break up the predominantly black construction. Grey accents appear on the chenille tongue patch and along the mudguard, adding another tonal layer without changing the sneaker’s largely monochromatic direction.
The Air Jordan 8 retains the details that made the silhouette immediately recognizable during the 1990s. Crossover straps wrap around the upper and secure the foot, creating one of the model’s most identifiable features. Perforated overlays add texture throughout the upper and continue the design language associated with the original sneaker.

Those elements connect the “Chrome” release to the Air Jordan 8 that Michael Jordan wore during his third consecutive NBA championship season in 1993. The “Chrome” itself did not appear until a decade later, when Jordan Brand introduced the colorway in 2003. Its black construction and metallic hardware gave the existing silhouette a different visual treatment while preserving the key structural details of the model.
Jordan Brand has returned to the “Chrome” several times since its original introduction. The upcoming release follows the 2015 reissue, making Fall 2026 the first time the colorway has returned in more than ten years. The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” launches on August 29, 2026, with a retail price of $215 USD. Jordan Brand will release the sneaker through select stockists and Nike SNKRS.
