Celine and Reebok have joined forces on a new version of the Freestyle Lo, revisiting the 1982 silhouette through Celine’s perspective. The collaboration connects Paris street style with American athletic culture, using a shoe closely tied to Reebok’s history in women’s sport as the foundation for the project.

Reebok introduced the Freestyle in 1982 as its first shoe designed specifically for women. The brand developed it for aerobics, adapting the construction for a women’s fit and helping establish a category that became closely associated with the fitness culture of the decade. The low-cut Freestyle Lo later extended that identity beyond the studio and into everyday dressing.

For the 2026 collaboration, Celine returns to that original low-profile shape and pares the design down through materials, branding and finish. The Freestyle Lo by Celine/Reebok uses a 100 percent lambskin upper with a polyester lining, polyester insole and rubber outsole. Perforations appear across the toe, preserving one of the practical details of the original construction while giving the surface a clear visual rhythm.
Branding distinguishes the left and right shoes. A jacquard label carries Celine Paris logos on the left foot and Reebok on the right. The right heel features an embossed Triomphe, while the left heel carries an embossed Reebok logo. The soles continue that split treatment: the right combines debossed Celine and Reebok logos, and the left pairs Reebok with the Triomphe.

Celine and Reebok also add a removable leather label to the left shoe, finished with embossed Triomphe and Reebok logos. The details keep both identities visible without changing the basic Freestyle Lo profile.
The collaboration centers on the idea of two histories meeting through a single shoe. Celine brings a Paris fashion perspective to a design rooted in American movement and women’s fitness culture. Reebok contributes a silhouette that first arrived over four decades ago and remains closely associated with the brand’s early expansion into women-specific footwear.
The project arrives in eight colors, giving one silhouette several different treatments while keeping the same construction and overall form. The Celine/Reebok Freestyle Lo launches in selected Celine stores and onlinefrom Thursday, September 10, 2026. The collaboration returns to a Reebok design first introduced in 1982 and reframes it through Celine’s current approach, placing a women’s aerobics shoe from the early 1980s into a new fashion context for 2026.
