Arnault currently serves as deputy CEO of Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH. He took on the role in February 2025 after four years at Tiffany & Co., where he served as executive vice president of product, communications and industrial operations. Before joining Tiffany, he spent four years as CEO of Rimowa, another company within the LVMH group.
Earlier in his career, Arnault worked on digital innovation and technology investment at LVMH and Agache. His professional background also includes experience at McKinsey & Company and KKR.
Arnault already holds several board and institutional roles. He sits on the board of directors at LVMH and serves as a trustee of The Museum of Modern Art in New York. His previous board appointments include Carrefour, Birkenstock and Moncler. Arnault is the son of LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault.
Nike president and CEO Elliott Hill, who took the company’s top executive role in late 2024, cited Arnault’s experience with major international brands as a key reason for the appointment.
“Alexandre understands how some of the world’s most influential brands stay relevant, deepen consumer connections and drive long-term growth,” Hill said. Hill also pointed to Arnault’s work in innovation, digital transformation and brand building as Nike seeks to improve its relationship with consumers and strengthen its competitive performance.
The appointment comes as Nike faces financial pressure. Revenue between March and May reached $10.97 billion, down 1 percent year over year and 4 percent on a constant-currency basis. Shares have fallen over 40 percent in 2026, marking a fifth consecutive year of annual decline. Nike will also leave the S&P 100 index on September 21, 2026, ending an 18-year run that began in December 2008.
His appointment adds another executive with extensive experience outside the traditional sportswear sector to Nike’s board, which also includes former Apple CEO Tim Cook. Arnault’s career has largely developed within LVMH, where his roles at Rimowa, Tiffany & Co. and Moët Hennessy have covered different areas of the luxury business. Nike now brings that experience into its boardroom as the company works through declining revenue, weaker share performance and changes to its index membership.
