Jordan Brand brings back the Air Jordan 6 White Infrared for the silhouette’s 35th anniversary, restoring Nike Air branding to the heel of this original colorway. The upcoming edition follows the white leather and red-accented design that debuted in 1991, during Michael Jordan’s first championship season with the Chicago Bulls. Its shape, fit, and feel follow the original model, while the archival color scheme preserves the combination that introduced “White Infrared” to the Air Jordan lineup.

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 6 for Michael Jordan’s 1991 season, drawing inspiration from the player’s German sports car. Nike’s archive identifies the automotive reference as part of the shoe’s original design, alongside its visible Air cushioning and translucent rubber sole. The model debuted in five colorways, including “White Infrared,” as Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA championship. That season established the Air Jordan 6’s connection to the beginning of Chicago’s title run.

Jordan wore “White Infrared” during the latter part of the 1991 regular season. He later secured his first NBA title against the Los Angeles Lakers wearing the “Black Infrared” version.
The 2026 edition features a white leather upper with angular overlays and perforations through the midfoot and ankle. Black covers the collar lining, molded two-hole tongue, and sections of the extended heel tab. Red accents trace the sculpted midsole and appear on the heel tab, lace lock, and Jumpman logo on the lace shroud. The official White/Light Crimson/Black/White color listing accompanies the familiar “White Infrared” name.

Embroidered Nike Air branding returns to this colorway’s heel for the first time since 1991. Both previous retros carried Jumpman branding: the 2010 edition arrived in the “Infrared Pack” alongside its black counterpart, and a separate release followed in 2014. The new pair ends a twelve-year gap between releases.
A polyurethane midsole houses Air-Sole cushioning in the forefoot and an exposed unit at the heel. Translucent rubber forms part of the outsole, continuing a construction detail from Hatfield’s original design. The heel pull tab and two tongue openings complete the familiar silhouette.
