Fashion house Givenchy has unveiled its Pre-Fall 2024 Women’s collection, a blend of the brand’s signature elegance and practicality in dressing. This latest collection draws inspiration from the later works of Hubert de Givenchy, reinterpreted through a modern perspective, showcasing the brand’s ongoing commitment to fluidity and new formalities in fashion.
The collection is defined by two distinct themes within the women’s wardrobe. First, it explores masculine volumes with a twist, featuring languid designs with plunging necklines. Second, it reimagines tailoring with a focus on waisted, slightly shrunken proportions, giving miniskirts a powerful yet contemporary edge. Cocoon coats in double-face cotton, reminiscent of those seen on the runway, make a statement, as does the iconic Givenchy trench coat, reimagined with couture volumes at the back. The collection also infuses classic wardrobe essentials like blouses and trouser suits with a touch of archival elegance.
The Pre-Fall 2024 lineup is punctuated with flamboyant elements, such as jewel-like 4G buttons adorning both tailored and flou pieces. The color palette is refreshed with vibrant hues of hot pink and orange, adding energy to the predominantly neutral tones. Lightness and playfulness are introduced through transparent fabrics and archival polka dot motifs. Evening wear is dominated by the Little Black Dress (LBD), featuring double-draped backs and ruched silk chiffon, blending seduction with a hint of mystery. A new graphic lace signature, combined with point d’esprit tulle, elevates evening dresses and knitwear.
The collection’s statement accessories include the Voyou bag, now offered in chain, clutch, and tote variations, and evening versions in mirrored croc-embossed leather, tortoiseshell, and feather embellishments. The Antigona family introduces the Antigona Cube, a new silhouette exploring an origami-like shape. Footwear is redefined with a boot hybrid of the Shark Lock and Voyou, adorned with oversized buckles, alongside Spazzolato or metallic pumps and ballerina slingbacks featuring Voyou buckles.
The eyewear collection expands on Givenchy’s aesthetic, introducing styles like the Giv-Cut in injected and metal versions, and 4G Liquid butterfly frames in acetate with aqua green or coral enamel accents.
