Bottega Veneta has introduced the Campana tote, a bag designed in supple nappa leather with a form that adapts easily to the wearer. The design builds on an archival silhouette first presented by the house in Spring 2004, giving it new relevance while staying true to the brand’s approach to craft. With its rounded shape and two-handle structure, the Campana combines a generous interior with fluid construction, presented in the campaign starring Julianne Moore and Vittoria Ceretti.

BAGS

The bag arrives in two sizes and in different executions: smooth leather and Intrecciato. The Intrecciato version uses wider 15mm fettucce, which gives the weave a softer texture and flexibility. This choice creates a tactile quality that distinguishes the design from other leather goods. Bottega Veneta left the tote unlined, allowing the Intrecciato work to show on both the interior and exterior.

Practicality defines the Campana as much as its visual qualities. A magnetic closure secures the bag, reinforced with leather straps. In the larger version, an internal flat zipped pocket in smooth leather introduces a slight change in texture while providing a space for small essentials. The combination of volume, softness, and considered details makes the Campana a versatile tote, one designed to adapt while maintaining its shape.

Campana’s introduction also connects to the broader narrative of “Craft is our Language,” Bottega Veneta’s campaign dedicated to showing artisanship in new contexts. The tote will feature in the second wave of this campaign, which releases in September. The series brings together an ensemble that includes Brand Ambassador Julianne Moore, Dave Free, Guo Jing Jing, Marcantonio Brandolini, Ritsue Mishima, Tyler Okonma, Vittoria Ceretti, and Yo Yang.

With Campana, Bottega Veneta revisits a design from its archives and gives it a fresh life. The supple nappa leather, wider Intrecciato weave, and unlined structure combine to create a tote that feels both generous and responsive. Practical details such as magnetic closure and internal organization enhance its functionality, while its presence in the upcoming campaign situates it firmly within the brand’s vision for the season.
