J.Crew opened the doors of 190 Bowery with an event that marked the start of a new chapter for the brand in New York. Known as one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, the six-story building became the setting for The Housewarming, an experience designed to draw visitors into a space where J.Crew’s design codes take shape room by room. The brand reshaped the interiors to reflect elements of prep, cashmere, stripes, and other signature themes, building an environment that mirrored the idea of a home.
EVENTS
The night began with a performance by Blood Orange, who played selections from his newly released album Essex Honey. The live set brought energy to the atmosphere and set the stage for the evening’s unfolding program. Guests then sat down to a dinner prepared by chef Flynn McGarry. His menu offered a preview of Cove, the restaurant he will soon open in New York, giving attendees a first taste of dishes that emphasize creativity and refinement.

The event also featured comedy, with Chloe Fineman and Liza Koshy engaging the audience and keeping the room lively. Their performances added another layer to the experience, reinforcing the balance of music, food, and entertainment that shaped the night.

The guest list included a wide mix of figures from entertainment, fashion, and culture. Attendees ranged from Anna Sawai and Cazzie David to LaKeith Stanfield, Martha Stewart, Mark Ronson, Victoria Pedretti, and Dominic Fike. Ryan Phillippe and his son Deacon Phillippe were also in attendance, alongside performers such as The Dare and comedians Eva Victor and Leslie Bibb.

On September 12 and 13, J.Crew will open the space to the public. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will be able to explore the rooms of 190 Bowery, experiencing the building as a living catalog. Live music and refreshments will accompany the event, while exclusive giveaways will connect attendees with the brand in tangible ways. Shoppers can expect limited-edition vintage items, 190 Bowery exclusives, and new pieces from the J.Crew Fall Collection. New York Embroidery Studio will also offer personalization services on-site, allowing buyers to create one-of-a-kind versions of selected items.
The event at 190 Bowery represented more than a launch party; it extended J.Crew’s catalog into a physical format and turned an iconic New York address into a temporary house for the brand.
