Jacob & Co. has introduced The Godfather Sculpture, a large-scale artistic work inspired by its Godfather timepiece. Known for technical mastery and creativity, the brand has expanded one of its most recognizable watches into a functional sculpture that unites fine craftsmanship, mechanical detail, and a tribute to cinema.
The Godfather Sculpture stands as a dramatic centerpiece. Measuring 4.3 x 2.66 x 2.53 ft and weighing 386 lbs, it carries the presence of monumental art while keeping the precision of horology. Artisans constructed the piece entirely in stainless steel, with glass panels and Italian leather accents adding depth to the design. The work takes the visual codes of the original timepiece and translates them to an architectural scale, turning a wristwatch into an immersive, kinetic installation.

Jacob & Co. designed the sculpture around seven independent components, each telling part of the story. The body, made of 304 stainless steel with side glass panels, can be fitted with either a domed or flat top. Decorative details such as a violin motif, buttons, and leather straps tie the piece back to its Godfather theme. The main platform, an electromechanical base, rotates clockwise, setting the mechanical choreography in motion. On top, the watch mechanism platform counter-rotates, echoing the balance of fine watchmaking.
At the core sits the watch mechanism, developed by Costa Design with German Hermie components, spring-powered with a reserve of 7 to 10 days. Around it, the fins add motion through motor-driven systems, animating the sculpture with theatrical movement. The tri-axial tourbillon serves as a faithful spring-powered simulation of one of horology’s most complex features, enhanced with discreet DC motor support for smooth performance.

Music completes the sensory experience. The sculpture incorporates two distinct systems that recreate the famous Godfather theme. The first uses twin rotating cylinders to pluck tuned keys, while the second relies on an acoustic piano amplified by a membrane microphone. The entire piece rests inside a custom presentation box that measures 5.58 x 3.67 x 3.28 ft. With the sculpture, the combined weight reaches 650 lbs. Each subsystem, from the tourbillon to the motors, has been carefully integrated to ensure function while maintaining refined aesthetics.
The Godfather Sculpture, priced at $330,000 USD, shows how Jacob & Co. can transform a wristwatch into a monumental work of art. By scaling up the Godfather timepiece into an immersive object, the brand presents horology as storytelling and performance.
