Zadig & Voltaire has named Dan Sablon as its new creative director, marking a leadership shift for the contemporary French label known for its rock-inflected Paris aesthetic. Sablon, who currently serves as cultural director-at-large at Vogue France, will unveil his first collection for the brand this March during Paris Fashion Week. He will continue his role at Vogue France alongside his new position.

Sablon succeeds Cecilia Bönström, who led the creative direction of Zadig & Voltaire from 2006 until 2024. In his new role, he will report directly to founder and owner Thierry Gillier, as the brand continues its next chapter under renewed family management following the 2024 departure of chief executive Remy Baume.
With more than 15 years of industry experience, Sablon brings a background that bridges design, editorial, and cultural consultancy. He has worked as a designer and creative consultant for Marc Jacobs and collaborated with brands including Carhartt WIP, Fenty x Puma, and Rick Owens. He previously served as fashion director of French magazine Lui and contributed as an editor to i-D Magazine.
Founded in 1997, Zadig & Voltaire has built its identity around a contemporary interpretation of French style, defined by sharp tailoring, casual ease, and references to music culture. The company returned to family management in 2024 and continues to pursue international expansion following a 2020 minority investment from Luxembourg-based Peninsula Capital.
In a statement, Sablon outlined his intention to refine the label’s “distinct Paris attitude,” aiming to build a wardrobe defined by clarity and edge, grounded in strong archetypes and informed by contemporary culture. His debut this March will signal how he plans to shape the brand’s visual language while maintaining its established codes.
As Paris Fashion Week approaches, the industry will watch closely to see how Sablon interprets Zadig & Voltaire’s legacy and repositions the house within today’s luxury landscape.
