Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods married over the weekend in Malibu, bringing together figures from basketball, fashion and entertainment for one of the summer’s most closely watched celebrity weddings. The ceremony arrived only two months after Towns helped the New York Knicks secure their first NBA championship in 53 years, giving the center another major personal moment in an already eventful year.
CELEBS
Around 250 guests attended the outdoor celebration in an all-black dress code. The guest list included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, and Towns’ Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Timothée Chalamet attended alongside Kylie Jenner, whose appearance also drew attention given her previously publicized friendship with Woods and the pair’s later reconciliation.
Former Love Island U.S.A. couple Nicolas Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen were also seen together at the event following news of their split last month.
Celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss organized the wedding. Weiss has previously worked on ceremonies for Justin and Hailey Bieber, Ciara and Russell Wilson, and Brooke Shields and Andre Agassi.

For the ceremony, Woods wore a strapless Danielle Frankel wedding gown finished with an attached neck wrap and long veil. Towns chose a traditional black tuxedo, keeping his look in line with the monochrome dress code established for guests.
The marriage follows more than six years together for Woods, 28, and Towns, 30. The two had known each other as friends before beginning a romantic relationship and have previously spoken about connecting through experiences of grief. Woods lost her father to cancer in 2017, while Towns’ mother died from Covid-19 in 2020.
Towns proposed on Christmas Day in New York last year. In a July interview with The New York Times, the basketball player described Woods as the first person he calls when something significant happens in his life and spoke about the importance of sharing the Knicks’ championship victory with her following years marked by professional changes and personal loss.

Their Malibu ceremony also arrives during an unusually active summer for NBA weddings.
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton married his longtime partner Jade Jones, whom he met while the pair attended Iowa State University. Cleveland Cavaliers player Donovan Mitchell married R&B singer Coco Jones in August during a ceremony at a private residence in New York.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards also married Shannon Jackson in July. The couple share a child and chose a comparatively low-key ceremony.
Former NBA player and current sports commentator Kenny Smith joined the list in August when he married Croatian influencer Tia Jurcic in California. Smith previously won consecutive NBA championships with the Houston Rockets during the 1990s.
For Towns, the Malibu wedding gives an extraordinary summer a personal finale. His marriage to Woods follows the Knicks’ championship run while placing the couple within a wider season in which several of basketball’s biggest names have turned from playoff courts and championship celebrations to ceremonies of their own.
