AGUA by Agua Bendita presented Florecer, its Spring Summer 2027 collection, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid following its selection by the Latin American Fashion Awards. The season focuses on flowers as both subject and material, connecting references from European art with Colombian traditions and the natural abundance of the country.
SPRING SUMMER 2027
The collection begins with the idea of flowers as a constant presence in Colombia, where geography and climate allow different species to bloom throughout the year. From there, AGUA turns to the silleteros of Antioquia, a tradition in which farmers and flower growers arrange cultivated flowers on structures known as silletas and carry them on their backs. The practice becomes an important reference for the collection because the flower itself forms the image.

That idea appears directly in the clothes. Hand-embroidered flowers cover dresses, blazers and knitwear, drawing from the dense compositions created on the silletas. AGUA uses those details to emphasize the labor behind each piece and the role of handwork throughout the collection.
Florecer also looks to European visual culture. Botticelli’s Primavera, the myth of Persephone and botanical illustration inform the way flowers appear throughout the season. These references enter the collection through print, embroidery, appliqué and sculptural construction.
Volume plays a major role. Tulle skirts take on tutu-like shapes, while linen and maxi layers create longer silhouettes. Organza blazers feature embroidered and appliquéd flowers, and satin ribbons return as bows. Crochet, knitwear, beads and embroidery add surface and texture without relying on a single floral technique.

Illustration remains central to AGUA’s process. The prints begin as hand-drawn studies developed through color and watercolor before translation onto fabric. Across the collection, flowers appear painted, drawn, embroidered, shaped in organza and built into three-dimensional forms.
The presentation extended beyond clothing through several collaborations. AGUA by Agua Bendita introduced a 12-piece footwear capsule with Alexandre Birman, combining Latin-inspired artisanal techniques with feminine shapes. Maison Ola created hats for the show, while PYRATEX also joined the project.

Music brought another Colombian element into the presentation through a performance by Aria Vega. The runway space itself carried the floral theme on a much larger scale through a partnership with Flowers of Colombia. For the show, 13,575 stems traveled from Colombia to Madrid, including carnations, chrysanthemums and alstroemerias.
That installation connected the runway directly to the country that shaped the collection’s central idea. Florecer approaches the flower through several visual languages, from Renaissance painting and watercolor to embroidery and the living arrangements created by the silleteros.
