Nike Basketball and LeBron James introduce the LeBron 24, the lightest game shoe in his signature line to date. Designed for the speed and physical demands of contemporary basketball, the new model combines a lighter construction with responsive cushioning, stability, traction and a new knit upper developed specifically for LeBron.

The LeBron 24 introduces KingKnit, a LeBron-specific material that uses a combination of yarns to provide breathability, strength and containment. Nike engineered the upper to support quick cuts, explosive takeoffs and sudden changes in direction while reducing overall weight.

Underfoot, Nike combines a full-length React foam drop-in midsole with Air Zoom units in the forefoot and heel. The setup delivers responsive cushioning through the length of the shoe, while a midfoot shank adds support. A new traction pattern completes the performance system, giving players grip during changes in direction and acceleration.
Dorian Pickens, product line manager for Nike Basketball, described speed as a key factor behind the design of the LeBron 24. He said KingKnit gives the upper the strength, breathability and containment needed for explosive basketball while helping the shoe feel light, fast and secure.

The new model also changes how Nike and LeBron approach the wider concept behind his signature series. The LeBron 24 turns attention toward younger players and the lessons that have shaped LeBron’s career, using those ideas as a framework for future colorways.
Nike organizes the LeBron 24 releases around five principles: Wonder, Family, Fear, Luck and Discovery. Wonder focuses on imagination, confidence and belief in what can become possible. Family reflects support, strength and connection. Fear examines uncertainty and adversity as sources of resilience, humility and motivation. Luck focuses on discipline, consistency and work as factors that can create opportunity. Discovery addresses self-awareness and growth before external success.

The launch colorway, “Stars,” belongs to the Wonder principle and takes inspiration from an AAU team from LeBron’s childhood. Nike plans to use future colorways to develop the remaining principles through references connected to his experiences and values.
Through that structure, the LeBron 24 shifts attention from LeBron’s past achievements toward ideas that younger athletes can apply to their own development. The shoe carries those concepts alongside a performance package designed for current basketball, connecting the technical design with a broader focus on the next generation.
The Nike LeBron 24 will launch globally on November 17 through nike.com and select retail locations.
