adidas and BAPE reunite for a new collection inspired by the basketball culture and streetwear of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Following their football-focused collaboration during last summer’s global tournament, the two brands turn their attention to basketball, introducing footwear, clothing and accessories that reference the era’s influence on fashion. The collection features BAPE’s recognizable graphics alongside adidas Basketball designs, with purple serving as the central color throughout the range.

BAPE’s COLOR CAMO pattern plays an important role in the collection, drawing from the Japanese label’s early-2000s identity. The distinctive camouflage print appears across several pieces, connecting the new designs with a period when basketball and streetwear developed a close relationship. Purple accents continue throughout the apparel, establishing a consistent visual direction that references BAPE’s established design language.

The adidas Crazy Energy+ leads the footwear selection. As one of adidas Basketball’s newest performance models, the sneaker receives a distinctive update through BAPE’s graphic approach. A metallic COLOR CAMO SILVER print covers the upper, bringing the collection’s camouflage theme to the basketball silhouette. The design also features a knitted “WGM” lace overlay, referencing the phrase “World Gone Mad,” alongside two interchangeable lace options.
The Crazy Energy+ introduces BAPE’s recognizable elements to a performance-focused sneaker, connecting basketball footwear with the collaboration’s wider streetwear direction. The metallic finish gives the shoe a prominent visual character, while the lace detailing adds another reference to BAPE’s established graphics.

The apparel collection develops the basketball references through varsity-inspired clothing and reversible designs. A black varsity jacket serves as one of the main pieces, featuring purple accents, gold studs and a large chenille graphic across the back. The lettering reads “World Gone Mad,” continuing the WGM motif that also appears on the Crazy Energy+ sneaker.
Another central piece is a purple reversible mesh hoodie featuring BAPE COLOR CAMO. The exterior hood includes a tonal shark face, one of the label’s recognizable design elements, while the reverse side features an all-over STA print. The hoodie comes with coordinating reversible Adibreak track pants, extending the collection’s graphic direction across a matching outfit.
The selection also includes a “World Gone Mad” warm-up top and a BABY MILO T-shirt. Accessories complete the collection with a reversible beanie and a BABY MILO basketball bag, continuing the basketball theme through familiar BAPE characters and graphics. Together, the pieces incorporate references to vintage basketball clothing and the streetwear styles associated with the early 2000s.

Basketball player Jalen Williams leads the campaign, representing the connection between the sport and contemporary fashion. His involvement places an active basketball figure at the center of the collaboration, reflecting the influence of players on clothing and style beyond the court. The campaign uses Williams’ presence to connect adidas Basketball’s performance identity with BAPE’s approach to streetwear.
The collaboration continues the relationship between adidas and BAPE, with both brands revisiting recognizable design elements through basketball-inspired products. The adidas x BAPE collection launches November 7 through the adidas CONFIRMED app, select retailers, BAPE STORE locations and BAPE website.
