The Balance Bridge, a proposed 132-meter-long pedestrian span for the Puddefjorden in Bergen, Norway is a technologically advanced zero-energy drawbridge. Simple and elegant in form, the bridge relies on photovoltaic cells to power a unique hydraulic pumping system that operates two cantilevered spans extending across the channel.
