Domenico Cioffi creates a refreshing spring summer 2014 womenswear collection beautifully shown through the imagery of photographer Nicky Onderwater.
The collection Sweet Chérif is inspired by different elements. The first is ‘Moonrise kingdom’, a Wes Anderson movie, about the flight of two teenage lovers in the mid-sixties in the American provence. The pink and the blue of the palette of the collection are taken from the costumes of the young protagonist and the colonial wooden houses. The other element of inspiration is the geometry of the artist Sol Lewitt and collages of Jeff Koons revisited through the clothes of the cheerleader, softening the colors and contrasts often accompanied by big sheriff stars, made out of PVC, cut with hologram effects. Everything looks clearly childish, but completely remixed in high-tech sport. To make the look complete, there are glasses of birch wood in various shades, natural colors, engraved with the typical signs of the american artist, high and flat sandals in PVC and leather, tennis visors with large six-pointed stars as a sheriff that give a fresh and sporty image to the outfits. – from Domenico Cioffi
